Frantoio and Leccino are the two most predominant varieties used in Tuscan olive oil production. Frantoio offers a fruity flavor with a more robust aftertaste, while Leccino is known for its milder profile. While Frantoio is self-pollinating, Leccino requires a pollinator, such as Pendolino, planted nearby to ensure fruit production.
